Join us in welcoming one of our newest team members at Casey Peterson, LTD, Alayna Marten. She joined us in mid-April as a client manager on our healthcare team.

This is Alayna’s first venture into public accounting (aside from a tax season internship). Before joining our firm, she worked in a critical access hospital in Wyoming for about six years. During her time in that role, Alayna worked closely with our healthcare team on annual cost report filings and other projects. She says she was always impressed with the client experience our team members provided. So, when a chance to work for our firm arose, she jumped at the chance.

Alayna grew up in eastern Montana in a diverse rural community filled with ranching, railroads, and coal mining. After high school, she didn’t really know what she wanted to do. So, she took an intro to accounting course in college and was pretty good at it. After that, she figured, “why not?!” Alayna’s interest in numbers and business grew from there.

When it comes to what she likes most about working at Casey Peterson, LTD, Alayna’s very enthusiastic about all the “phenomenal people.” She says everyone’s been friendly and helpful. In addition to the people, she also appreciates the flexibility. As a remote team member, she gets extra time back in her day. In her previous role, Alayna spent an hour a day on the road commuting. And as she says, “I can do a lot of things in an hour!”

In her free time, Alayna enjoys traveling, hiking, adventuring, trying new things, and spending time with her family and friends.

WHAT’S YOUR SECRET TALENT NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT?

Houseplant lover. At one point, I had 25-plus plants in a two-bedroom apartment. I scaled back for the move, but I am excited to grow my herd with new plants native to the area! This is a huge feat for me because at one point, my boyfriend lovingly referred to our house as “the place plants come to die!” and whenever I brought a new plant home, he’d say, “Oh, look! A new victim!”
