Meet one of our newest team members, Pauline Kelley, in her own words through the answers to 15 questions.

1. What’s your name? Pauline Kelley

2. What’s your title? Principal Quality Assurance Strategist

3. When did you start? June 10, 2024

4. What do you do here? I am currently working on the 03/31/2024 YE Quality Control review for the company and will continue to do this annually. I also have been assisting on various engagements on an as needed basis.

5. Where did you or do you go to school, and if you got a degree, what was it in? I received a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in accounting and finance from Northern State University. Then later in life, I decided to go back to school and received an Executive master’s in public administration degree from the University of South Dakota.

6. What did you do before you came to the firm? For 23 years, I worked in municipal government as a municipal finance director. I then had a short stint as the Chief Financial Officer for a private company before coming to Casey Peterson.

7. Do you belong to any professional or community organizations? Tell us about them. I belong to the AICPA and SD CPA Society for professional organizations. In addition, I am the current past president for the YMCA Board of Directors, with my term set to end in March 2025.

8. What did you want to be when you grew up? Depends on when you asked me. It ranged from a social worker to an aeronautical engineer, to a professional in international business, and then finally to a CPA.

9. What do you do for fun? I golf horribly and I enjoy hiking, camping, kayaking, and reading.

10. What’s your favorite book? Two of them – “There is No Me Without You,” by Melissa Fay Greene and “The Last Lecture,” by Randy Pausch

11. What’s your favorite podcast? I actually don’t listen to podcasts (I know, so old school – or maybe just so old)

12. What’s your favorite movie? “Grumpy Old Men”

13. Who’s your favorite band? Pretty much anything from the 80s

14. What’s your favorite song? “In Case You Didn’t Know,” by Brett Young although I have fun singing along with “Sold,” by John Michael Montgomery

15. What’s on your bucket list? It’s kind of extensive (lots of travel plans) but here’s a couple – travel to Greece and skydiving
