Meet one of our newest team members, Associate Chelsea Michael! We usually ask newbies to answer 10-ish questions, but like she so often does, Chelsea went above and beyond and answered all 15. Here she is in her own words.

  1. What’s your name? Chelsea Michael

  2. What’s your title? Associate

  3. When did you start? October 2023

  4. What do you do here? I assist in both the Accounting and Tax departments. I process monthly account reconciliations, quarterly and year-end payroll reports and sales tax, 1099’s and W-2’s, and tax returns.

  5. Where did you or do you go to school, and if you got a degree, what was it in? I obtained my associate degree in accounting from Western Dakota Technical College in May of 2021. I am currently attending Southern New Hampshire University, pursuing my bachelor’s degree in accounting, with a focus on forensic accounting. I am estimated to graduate in the spring of 2026.

  6. What did you do before you came to the firm? Front Office/Billing Coordinator for a dental office.

  7. Do you belong to any professional or community organizations? Tell us about them.
    • I am the Vice President for a local organization called Haakon County Young Women. We maintain our local children’s park and host various annual events for our community.
    • Recently, I accepted a nomination for the National Society of Leadership & Success. I am currently working to complete my orientation for the organization to be properly recognized as a member.
  8. What did you want to be when you grew up? Professionally, I didn’t have a clear vision on what I wanted to be, but I knew I loved helping people. I thought this meant that I was destined for a career in the medical field, though I learned rather quickly that I am not a fan of bodily fluids. I always knew that I wanted to be a mother. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that the most important thing that I will accomplish is who I will raise my children to become. I am overjoyed that I have found a career with Casey Peterson that provides real meaning to work/life balance and ample room to grow while also aligning with who I am outside of the office, someone with integrity and who loves people.

  9. What do you do for fun? I love to read. I love going to the pool with my kids and playing basketball at the park. I love going to concerts. I love our annual family trips to Montana.

  10. What’s your favorite book?
    • Favorite fiction: “Harry Potter” series
